Today
August 1st, 2008 is the start of a New Chapter in the Shundahai
Network(SN) Web site. The original web master of the site
is taking over to help All of SN with a New Updated Web
site. There will be many new features, slowly added and
old materials replaced (under the guidance of the Board
of Directors (BOD)
Please
be patient, I know you have all been waiting over a year
for a real update. Shundahai Network is coming back to Las
Vegas to continue to carry out Corbin Haney's vision to
"Shut the Test Site Down" and to have it cleaned
up and returned to the original caretakers, the Newe people,
now called the Western Shoshone People.
There
is a New CURRENTLY Updated Daily Blog
"Nuclear and Indigenous Items of Interest"
at http://gregornot.wordpress.com/
in which will keep you up to date on the latest items of
interest, while we are updating the old site and deciding
our future.
Volunteers
seeking to make a change are needed at this point of Shundahai
Network's FUTURE OPERATIONS!
We
need your help to make this happen.
Without dedicated help not much gets done, if anything.
The work needs people to make it happen. There is currently
no staff, just a Board of Directors. Guin the Office Manager
is missing in action( we believe he is at the Conventions.
We
will still have our complete web site, with additional features
and menu changes, such as Videos of Past Shundahai actions
and of Corbin Harney, a Goggle Earth Section (for those
of you who have Goggle Earth installed, with Nevada Test
Site Data from the beginning of Nuclear Testing in Nevada
to the present( or at least till the last full scale Nuclear
Test in 1992)
If you don't have Goggle Earth, it is a free download (rather
large)
So
we may also just have photos of relevant data for viewing.
A Forum for constant readers to ask question and discuss
new idea for shutting down the test site. We want your input
and help in the New Shundahai Network.
There
is much more planned and it will be a little while till
it is all up and running. There may be a broken link or
a missing photo but we are fixing it as fast as we can.
Feel free to email me at gregornot@gmail. com, until we
get the Shundahai emails re-established. Some of the old
emails still work and you can use those ones. Unless you
get a address unknown return email, we got your email. Bur
please report errors to me at the above address until, things
are straighten out,thanks.
Remember
as Corbin said "We are all one people, let's put our
heads together to solve problems"

to plan the future of SN. The meeting was open to all of
our supporters, and any others interested in exploring future
collaboration with SN. The goals of the meeting include
concrete strategies for the future of the network and producing

Survey results regarding the future of Shundahai Network

Dear Shundahai Friends,
I thought I would take the
opportunity to share, as well, the results of the Shundahai
Network (SN) survey recently conducted by the Board to seek
your guidance about Shundahai’s future. The survey
was filled out by 130 people , which should provide a good
cross-section of the opinions of those who care about SN’s
future.
Click
here for a pdf of the Survey Results
In a nutshell, the results
show that a lot of people value SN's past work and would
like to see SN continue. Most responders have attended at
least one SN gathering, but 40% have not. People consider
direct actions to be the most important part of the gatherings.
When rating the importance of SN's activities, they rated
"Liaison with Native Community" highest, followed
closely by "Offering Native Leadership" and "Direct
Action." Looking toward the
future, "Offer Native leadership toward environmental
justice" was the clear priority. Thirty-seven indicated
an interest in attending a future planning meeting (see
below).
Thank you for your interest
in Shundahai Network.

About Corbin Harney and
Shundahai Network
Gregor Gable, longtime friend
of Corbin Harney’s and Shundahai.org’s former
webmaster, promised Corbin that he would compile a book
to be called "The Shundahai Network: A Decade of Resistance,"
chronicling what we all accomplished together with Corbin
over the years of resistance at the Nevada Test Site and
other nuclear installations.
In order to pursue
the book about Corbin Harney and the Shundahai Network that
I promised Corbin I would write, I need to have more materials
sent in by private parties.
Almost all of the archival
materials I had gathered over the years that I worked with
Corbin Harney and the Shundahai Network were deleted by
a former staff member. Thus, I do not have sufficient
material to create the book. I need master photos (photos
with at least 300 dpi) and video and audio recordings.
Also many people have
promised to send me their memories of Shundahai actions.
Now is the time to do so. Without more material, I am unable
to complete this project, which was important to Corbin.
If you have stories, photographs,
reminiscences, videos or audio records you would like to
contribute to this project, please send them to:
Gregor Gable
1016 Denver St. Apt # 1
Salt Lake City, UT 84111-4773
Email: gregornot@gmail.com
Phone (cell) 510-410-6915
You will receive full credit
for any materials contributed. Please print your return
address clearly so that your materials can be returned,
if you want them back. If you are sending a story or reminiscence,
please keep a copy to save return postage.
If you have experience as
an editor and are able to volunteer some time to this project,
your assistance would be very welcome.
Thank you for keeping Corbin
Harney's work with Shundahai Network and his memory alive.
This project is a good way of doing that.
Please communicate directly
with Gregor regarding this project his project.

Over nine years in the making,
"Trespassing" is a feature-length documentary
film that poetically examines our fight for survival.
By focusing on the battle around nuclear storage in
the United States, the film carefully unpacks a deadly
controversy around land rights, uranium mining, nuclear
testing and the disposal of nuclear waste.
